Every year, we celebrate National Engineering Month, highlighting and elevating the important role of engineers and engineering in our communities.

Based in Toronto, we are reminded daily of the engineering feat that was, and still is, the CN Tower, an enduring symbol of Canada. With the monument celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year, OSPE is challenging the engineering community to “reimagine” this icon.

Our 2026 National Engineering Month Challenge for you is to…

Recreate the CN Tower… as a drawing, as a scale model, or however you wish.  All we ask is that you use as much detail as possible and explain your choices and methods.

We are hoping for creative, innovative interpretations and will share them throughout the course of the month (March) on our social media channels. All entries will be placed in a draw to win a prize, it could be a pizza party for your class, donuts and coffee for the office or a gift card if you are an individual participant.

We know that everyone taking on this “challenge” comes to it with different levels of education and experience levels. Submissions are not being evaluated technically so please have fun with it!!!

Also, for an extra entry into the draw, post a photo/video of your CN Tower creation on Facebook, LinkedIn, or Instagram, making sure to tag @nemontario and include #NEM2026

How to participate:

As an Individual:

Formulate your own creation of the CN Tower in any medium – a drawing, a scale model, even a “gingerbread house.”

Tell us a little about your inspiration and submit to letstalk@nemontario.ca for the chance to win a prize.

As a Group

The process is the same as above, just be sure to identify all your team members and your inspiration.
