Lifelong learning takes the stage at #NEM2021

National Engineering Month is back! Applications for #NEM2021 Ontario are now open and we are looking for event leaders to run online Zoom events designed for learning outcomes.

In these times of great adaptation, nothing is as powerful as practicing how to learn and expanding our perspectives as a community. This year we’re excited to deepen the impact of NEM events by focusing on the theme of lifelong learning and we will be curating the weeks thematically with Engineers Canada for a synched-up national NEM.

Week one will cover working with interdisciplinary professions. Week two will focus on equity, diversity & inclusion. The College and University Challenge will take the spotlight in week three. And in the final week, the discussion will be on ethics, engineering’s impact on society, resilience, wicked problems and the future.

All NEM Ontario events are organized and led by volunteers across the province. Whether you lead a panel discussion, workshop with skill building components or a networking event, all funded Ontario NEM2021 events will be geared for post-secondary students, professionals in our community and interdisciplinary professionals. All event leaders may apply for up to $500 in funding to cover expenses such as: honoraria for experts, marketing and development costs. Given the reality of COVID-19, in 2021 all NEM Ontario events will be delivered online using Zoom. Applications close on October 31, 2020 so be sure to get your application in soon.

Apply to lead a #NEM2021 event today!
