This event, aims to help connect students with the two important challenges of hunger and food wastage in urban cities in Canada. The aim is to introduce engineers with the type of challenges they could face outside of the ordinary field of engineering and learn how this discipline could allow them to use transferable skills to tackle social and economical challenges outside of their field of work. Through this challenge, participants would first receive a briefing on the problem of hunger among the people in need, and be familiarized with the wastage of food that takes place in grocery store. They will be later invited to identify major stakeholders in these field of work and brainstorm ideas for identifying solutions around this problem. At the final stage of the challenge, a practical solution would be chosen and carried forward as a group.
