24marAll DayPopsicle Stick Bridge Building Contest 2018PEO Algonquin

Event Details

Do you have a Son or Daughter in Grades 6 through 8 who is interested in engineering?
The goal of this contest is to construct the strongest / lightest bridge possible with 100 Popsicle sticks and white glue. A matchbox car must be able to traverse the bridge on a construction paper deck; otherwise, the design of the bridge is left up to the competitor.
Your son or daughter can team up with their friends and build a Popsicle Stick Bridge and then participate in its destruction by seeing how much weight it can really hold!

Sign up and get a kit for only $10 ($5 of which is refunded to the participants on the day of the contest) containing 100 popsicle sticks, white glue and construction paper. All proceeds go towards the prizes.
Registration will be closed 5:00 pm March 9th. No entries will be accepted on the day of the contest.
The contest will be held on March 24th, 2018, starting at 10 am, Pembroke West End Mall. Look for the signs…

Hi, me and my friend are signed up to do this challenge. We’re very excited but we’re wondering if we were supposed to make it at home or on the day of the contest. We were also wondering how far we needed to build the bridge.
