March 7 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
This event is designed to promote the engineering profession for all ranges, including parents. Colouring/drawing as well as craft activities promote STEAM in the younger age ranges, and introduces important concepts with hands-on activities. The Math Competition for the older grades allow them to apply their knowledge in a fun, friendly environment, all while making connections between math and the world of engineering. High school students have the opportunity to speak one-on-one with Colleges and Universities to learn about the post-secondary education opportunities. Parents who attend will also benefit from this valuable information.
Furthermore, this event has seen high local media presence over the past number of years (CTV, Newspaper, etc.), thus promoting the engineering profession to those not able to attend.
The Target Audience for the Sault Ste. Marie National Engineering Month is Grades 1 through 12. We provide a range of activities suitable for each of these age categories as described below. Some of our in-school presentations specifically target high school students who will be making a decision on their post-secondary education in the coming months.
